As many of you will know, I am a big believer in self care.
Treating myself to a relaxing massage, having breakfast with a good friend, or taking a nap in the afternoon fills my cup with joy.
One of my clients, Ann* always complains that she gives more to others than herself. The result is that she feels depleted, resentful and exhausted most of the time. The irony is that many of us are like Ann, and it is usually much easier to take care of others than to take care of ourselves. We have been conditioned that it is selfish to fill our own cup first.
